As the fashion industry continues to evolve, technology has become a major player in shaping its future. At this year's New York Fashion Week, The MŌS brand showcased their collection in a hybrid format of physical and digital garments, in collaboration with Giovanna Marcallo Terez for Digital Fashion Week NY; a concept that has been gaining popularity in recent years.

The use of 3D modeling software, Virtual Reality, Holograms, and Augmented Reality has allowed designers to create digital twins of their physical garments, blurring the lines between the physical and digital worlds. This technology not only enhances the presentation of the garments but also creates new opportunities for the fashion industry.

One emerging trend is the use of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) to sell digital versions of physical garments. This allows consumers to own a unique and exclusive piece of fashion that exists both in the physical and digital worlds.

However, it's important to note that not all fashion fads will translate well into the digital realm. Historical data has shown that many fashion trends are fleeting and short-lived, which begs the question of how long the trend of hybrid fashion shows will last.

Despite this, the use of technology in fashion shows is undoubtedly a game-changer. It allows designers to create a more immersive and engaging experience for the audience, while also opening up new opportunities for the industry. As technology continues to advance, it will be exciting to see how it will continue to shape the future of fashion.

8c3be8_b14ff0d4cc204f2e9b5b9375c75d1494_mv2I have always been interested in exploring the intersection of fashion and technology. I firmly believe that technology can revolutionize the fashion industry by making it more sustainable, efficient, and accessible.

One trend that I am particularly excited about is the use of 3D printing in fashion. 3D printing allows designers to create intricate and complex designs that would be impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing methods. This technology also enables us to create custom-made clothing that fits each individual's unique body shape and size. This not only reduces waste but also helps to create a more inclusive and diverse fashion industry.

Another emerging trend is the use of virtual and augmented reality in the fashion industry. These technologies allow customers to try on clothing virtually before making a purchase, which can help reduce the environmental impact of clothing production and transportation. Virtual and augmented reality also provide a new level of interactivity and engagement with customers, which can help to build brand loyalty and increase sales.

As a designer, it is essential to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the fashion industry. However, it is equally important to balance innovation with sustainability and ethical considerations. I believe that by leveraging technology in a responsible and thoughtful way, we can create a fashion industry that is both innovative and environmentally conscious.

Try-on experience by Zero10 app

One of the most exciting moments of the show was when we invited attendees to try on some of our looks with their phones, using the Zero10 app that we had developed. Through the app, a holographic version of our garments appeared to float in the air, creating a mesmerizing visual display that left the audience in awe. This experience was a nod to the rising trend of holographic and virtual fashion, which has been gaining popularity in the fashion industry.

I strongly believe that technology has the power to enhance and transform the traditional art of garment making. With the help of technology, we can create sustainable, versatile, and customizable fashion that meets the evolving needs of our customers.

If you are a designer, brand, or fashion enthusiast, I encourage you to explore the possibilities of Fashion and Technology. From 3D printing to smart textiles, there are countless ways in which technology can be incorporated into the world of fashion. And if you don't know where to start, we are here to help!
