Having been drawn to the financial world from a very early age, Jennie Raymer pursued a degree in business administration. From there she’d pave a path for herself in the lending world, first in the automotive industry and now as a Home Mortgage Advisor at Wintrust Mortgage.
Jennie's interest in finance, particularly lending, comes from her understanding of people’s relationships to money at different points in their lives. Its people and relationships that excite Jennie about the work she does. She’s quick to point out that for her this is not a transactional affair.
“It's important to understand that it is a relationship and not a transaction and I apply that everywhere in my life, not just in my business life. Understanding that the relationship is valuable, and cherishing it, is so important.I pride myself on that. I think that's why I enjoy doing it so much, because I genuinely love building genuine relationships”
Part of that relationship building includes learning a second language and immersing herself in another culture. Being drawn to Mexican culture, food and music, Jennie was committed to learning Spanish and spent time in Mexico.
“I grew up really, really enjoying the music first. My mom is a retired music teacher, so I love Spanish music; specifically Mexican music. When I was in high school, I studied abroad and lived with a family.”
Beyond her love of people, culture and finance Jennie is very involved with a non profit organization based in Schaumburg that helps other charities that are not as well established.
